Grace City Opera Theatre ™
Grace City Opera Theatre™ brings the masterworks of African American and African Descent classical composers to our local community and the world through performance, education, and providing exposure to aspiring artists in the communities we serve.

Who We Are
The Grace City Opera Theatre was established in January 2016 as a 501c3 non profit organization by Claudia Ann Merrill. The Opera Theatre was established to preserve, promote, and perform the works of African American and African Descent classical composers and to keep their works in the mainstream of classical music.

What We Perform
The Opera Theatre develops, educates, and provides opportunities for African American artists, vocalists, instrumentalists, composers, writers, and directors to present their work as well as to perform the works of the founding African American and African Descent classical composers of earlier centuries. Further it is the goal of the Opera Theatre to educate the community at large about classical music and its origins in African culture.
